On 19th February, 1915, the 2nd Yorkshire battalion of 21 Brigade, 7th Division moved into trenches near Fleurbaix where they remained until relieved on 22nd February, the day on which Henry Heatly was killed. At 2pm that afternoon he went with an Engineer officer to visit and inspect an advanced trench and while there he was shot in the head by a sniper. |
